We've been needing a little getaway...we're so tired of the cold winter and being cooped up inside so after church on Feb 14, we threw the kids into the van and started driving south to Moab. The drive wasn't too bad because the baby was sleeping and the rest of us were listening to the audiobook "A Series of Unfortunate Events"
When we FINALLY got near Moab, we stopped to look at some of the view points and go on a few little "hikes".
At the grand viewpoint, we watched the sun go down.
By this time it was almost bedtime and we hadn't even eaten dinner yet! We drove to Moab and stopped to eat at Moab Brewery. The food was decent, Cassidy enjoyed the coloring, and in the end she left her raccoon Rocky. Thank goodness we realized and they still had him!
We got to our hotel and found out that we had a room with THREE queen beds! It was so great! Sienna and Riley each got a bed to their self and Cassidy was in the pack'n'play. Ryan dropped us off to go pick up Rocky and for the whole 30 minutes he was gone, Cassidy just stood by the hotel door calling, "Dada! Dada!" She didn't care at all that Mom was there, trying to calm her down and play with her. It is really sweet how much she loves her dad! Once he got back he took the big kids out of the room so she could go to sleep (awesomely, the hotel had a bouncy castle in the lobby so they had something fun to occupy them). She took another 30 minutes or so to go to sleep, and then I joined the big kids at the castle for a few minutes. Before long we all dropped into bed to sleep. We were in Moab, and that made us happy :)
