Easter Saturday

On Saturday we celebrated Easter by going to the BYU spring scrimmage game and Easter Egg hunt.  We rode over to the stadium on our bikes and spent some time doing activites: bouncy house slides, making candy necklaces, making paper bunny ears to wear.  Somehow we had forgotten to bring Easter baskets, so Ryan had to go back home to get them.  The hunt was pretty disappointing, as they just threw a bunch of eggs on the grass and kids had to run out and grab eggs that were in plain sight.  The football game was sort of a bust for the kids and I decided half way through that I should take them home.

When I write it all out like that, it doesn't sound like we had a very successful Easter, but actually, it was a fun day.  One of the prizes Sienna had in her Easter Eggs was a free kids meal at Chili's so we went there for dinner and both of the kids chowed down like they hadn't eaten all day.  At one point, Riley threw a ramekin of ranch dressing on the floor and splashed the people sitting next to us...next time anyone asks about my most embarrassing moment, I'm going to cite that example.  They were really sweet about it and just laughed.  When we finished our dinner we went over to Grandma and Papa's house so that Sienna could decorate sugar cookies with Grandma.  We all enjoyed eating the cookies (except for Riley who just crumbled and threw his on the floor).

Kids make even the simplest outings very difficult, but they also make even the most mundane things in life more fun.  It was a good day.
