Movie in the Park

On Saturday, Ryan and I were struggling with wanting to do something fun but not knowing what.  We didn't have enough money to take the kids to a movie but didn't want to sit around at home.  We had talked about going to this movie in the park event but Ryan didn't want to stay out late (because he was planning to hike Timp the next morning).  

Finally we just decided to go.  I am so glad we did!

It was at a park with a little farmhouse and there was FREE horseback riding, a petting area, and several other activities

Typical.  So hard to get a good picture when kids refuse to look at you and stand still for more than 1/2 a second.  This was the cutest mini pony that was the perfect size for Riley!

Stuffing their faces with popcorn (which was only $.25!) while watching Monsters University.

When the popcorn ran out Sienna asked if she could go buy more and so we let her.  Ryan and I watched as she ran to the consession bus and felt so proud when she handled the transaction all by herself!

Then we watched as she took her bucket of popcorn over to the table full of different flavored salts and started to dump something in it.  Ryan got up and ran over to make sure she wasn't ruining her popcorn (she wasn't).

Both kids managed to stay awake for the whole movie (it was past 11!) and then fell asleep on the way home.  And wouldn't you know, they still woke up at 7 a.m.  Stinkers!
